New results: tES effects on ASSRs

The results of a Bootcamp project led by Inga Griškova Bulanova have been published as pre-print and submitted to the internationally renowned journal. Congratulations to the whole team!

Transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) has shown promise in treating neuropsychiatric disorders, yet its effects on brain activity have been inconsistent. This study investigated how different types of tES influence the auditory steady-state responses (ASSR) at 40 Hz, a measure of brain oscillation linked to cognition. Four conditions of tES were tested, including direct and alternating current methods. While they found no overall significant effects on ASSR, individual responses varied significantly. The study suggests that individual brain states may influence tES outcomes, highlighting the need for personalized approaches in future tES research.
