ZSI organized yet another training and Q&A session for IMR researchers and project-management staff in which we discussed Horizon Europe budget regulations with a specific focus on lump sum funding. The training was attended by more than 20 researchers, the majority of whom were prospective young PIs (ESRs and post-docs). The organizer discussed strategies for defining clear and achievable milestones, budgeting effectively to ensure financial sustainability throughout the project, and maintaining compliance with Horizon Europe’s stringent financial reporting requirements. Attendees learned about best practices for financial planning, monitoring, and reporting, which are crucial for the successful execution and completion of their projects.
